Thank you! Your Confidence Checklist is on its way to your inbox right now. Give it about five minutes. And while it travels, there's something you should know...
— A Note From CarsonFear isn't a flaw in you. It's your gut reading a horse that isn't sure of himself yet. Build his sureness, and the fear leaves on its own.
For the next 3 days, I'm giving you free lifetime access to my complete Confidence course. 27 lessons. Stops, backing, turns, and every maneuver that makes a horse truly sure of himself. Yours to keep forever.
Plus a bonus 14-day trial of the full Buckaroo Crew so you can explore everything else inside while you have it.
Cancel before Day 15 and your card never gets touched. The Confidence course stays yours either way.
You know the moment.
You're standing at the mounting block, and some part of you is already negotiating. Maybe today is a groundwork day.
You used to just ride. Twenty years ago, ten years ago, maybe even two years ago, you'd swing a leg over anything with hair. Now you run the math on every ride.
Maybe it started with a fall. A spook that came out of nowhere. A bolt. A buck you never saw coming. The ground is a lot harder than it used to be, and you don't bounce anymore.
Or maybe nothing happened at all. The fear just moved in slowly, one season at a time, until riding stopped feeling like freedom and started feeling like vigilance.
Because you're not relaxed out there. You're managing. Reading his ears every stride. Holding a little tension in your hands the whole ride. Cutting it short when the wind picks up.
And everybody has the same advice.
Relax. He can feel your nerves. Just be confident.
As if you hadn't thought of that.
So you fake calm while your heart pounds. And the horse gets tighter. And you get tighter. And now you're both lying to each other out there.
Here's the part that stings the most.
You've started to believe the problem is you. That you're not the rider you used to be. That maybe you don't have it anymore.
I've heard that story from more riders than I can count. Almost word for word.
And I'm going to tell you exactly what I tell every one of them.
Your fear is not a malfunction.
Read that again, because everything else in this letter depends on it.
Your body is a measuring instrument. It's been reading your horse this whole time. The tight back. The high head. The little spook at nothing. The jig on the way home. The way he's fine until he isn't.
Every one of those is data. And your gut has been doing honest math with it.
An unsure horse is an unpredictable horse. An unpredictable horse is a horse you can't fully trust. And you cannot talk yourself into trusting something your body knows is unpredictable.
That's not cowardice. That's good judgment.
That checklist headed to your inbox right now? Every box you can't check is exactly what your gut has been reading. You didn't lose your nerve. Your nerve has been doing its job.
So here's the fix, and it's the opposite of everything you've been told.
Stop working on your fear. Start working on what the fear is reading.
A confident horse makes a confident rider. Not the other way around.
And here's the part that should change how you see your horse, too.
A spooky horse doesn't need more desensitizing. He has every right to be scared of something unexpected. What keeps him calm in a stressful moment isn't that he's seen a thousand tarps. It's his confidence that he and his rider are okay.
Read that again, because it's describing both of you.
He doesn't need more exposure. You don't need more courage. You both need the same thing: the sureness that the two of you can handle what happens next.
You're not fixing two problems. You're fixing one.
When your horse becomes truly sure of himself... sure about stopping, sure about backing, sure about your leg, sure about his own feet... the data changes. And when the data changes, the feeling follows. You don't have to talk yourself into anything. The relaxation shows up on its own, the same way the fear did.
That's what's inside the Confidence course.
Not mindset work. Not breathing exercises. Not "visualize a successful ride."
The maneuvers. Built grade by grade, the same way I build them into every horse I ride, until the horse underneath you is so sure of his job that there's nothing left for your gut to flag.
I'm Carson James.
I came up in the lineage of Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt, the two men who changed how the world understands horses, and I've spent decades trying to do their work justice.
Hundreds of colts started. Thousands of horses ridden. More than 50,000 horse owners through the Buckaroo Crew online programs.
Still learning.
The principle behind everything I do is the one Ray taught: make the right thing easy and the wrong thing difficult. The Confidence course applies that principle to every maneuver your horse knows, until he's sure about all of them.
Every lesson is filmed so you can clearly see how to use your aids during each maneuver. You're not guessing at what "soft" or "light" means. You're watching it happen, with my hands and feet visible the whole time.
We were confronted on a narrow trail in a heavily wooded area by 2 large aggressive dogs. They ran right at us barking, both horses did a 180. As fast as it happened we were both able to bring the horses around and get them to settle. Facing the barking dogs, both stood firm. Without Carson's guidance we wouldn't have been able to help these horses be so brave. Buckaroo Crew Member
Can't brag enough on this group and Carson's method. I sent my horse to a trainer. But she was still a bucking mess so I got her back. With what I've learned here in just a few short months, we are here. I could not in any way be happier. Mike B.
I have signed up for almost every program you can think of. Not one of them was so thorough with so many fields covered, and also honest, not sugar-coating anything. I have had more results with my horse in the last week than in 6 years. Marilize P.
Carson seems unique in his delivery and intent. He seems to be more down-to-earth and a better teacher than other trainers. There's one thing missing in all his videos. That thing is ego. And that is why I continue to study his material. Paul M.

Carson AI is built from my complete teaching. It lives inside the Buckaroo Crew member portal.
Once you're in, start a new chat from your phone, tell it what's going on with your horse, and it'll tell you why and what to do about it.
Ask Carson AI 10 questions a month on Standard. Plenty for the kinds of questions that come up while you're working through the Confidence course.
A private group of horse owners working through the same material. Post a video. Ask a question. Get real feedback from members who've been there. A lot of them started exactly where you are right now, managing every ride. Carson and Jared both participate.
The Confidence course is free. Yours to keep forever, no matter what.
The 14-day Buckaroo Crew trial is also free. After Day 14, it's $19.99 a month to keep your Buckaroo Crew access. About 65 cents a day. Cancel before Day 15 and your card never gets touched.
You're protected on both ends.
During the 14-day trial, cancel any time before Day 15 and your card never gets charged. No questions asked. Just email Julie or call her at 386-249-9561.
After the trial, 30-day money-back guarantee on your first month of paid access. If at any point in the first 44 days you decide it's not for you, for any reason at all, Julie refunds you. She's been running customer service for us since the beginning. She doesn't give people a hard time.
That's 44 days of protection. Either you build a horse your gut can finally trust, or your card never gets touched.
The moment you start your 14-day Buckaroo Crew trial, you also get instant access to my complete downloadable resource library.
These are the kinds of resources you'd normally pay separately for. They're yours to download during your trial, and they stay yours forever, even if you cancel before Day 15.
A quick-reference guide to the most common horse problems. Keep it somewhere handy. You'll use it more than you think.
Everything you need to know about using a hackamore, all in one place.
My first 30 days with any horse, laid out in a format you can follow along with, one day at a time.
What you should always be working on when you ride. Simple. Clear. Actionable.
Does your horse actually respect you? Take the test and find out. You might be surprised by what you learn.
How to communicate clearly and effectively with your horse. Get this right, and everything else starts to come together.
You already have this one. It's how you got here. Consider it a preview of how the rest of this library works.
Make sure your horse is mentally equipped before you climb on. Go through these exercises and know for certain where you stand.
My complete book. Real horses, real people, real problems, and exactly how I worked through them. A lot of people tell me this one alone was worth the price of membership.
Is your horse mentally sound? I mean really mentally sound, not just "he usually behaves okay." This checklist will tell you.
Work with your horse's nervous system instead of against it. Become someone your horse can draw comfort and security from. One of the most underrated resources in this whole library.
Here's the honest truth.
This is the only place you can get lifetime access to the Confidence course.
Sign up for the Buckaroo Crew anywhere else, any other time, and the membership works the way every other subscription works. You pay, you get access. You stop paying, you lose access. All 15 courses. All the videos. All of it.
Not this time. Not if you sign up on this page.
Sign up here today and the Confidence course is yours forever. Even if you cancel before Day 15 and never pay me a dime.
I'm doing this because I'm convinced that once you get inside and start working through this material with your horse, you're going to want to stay.
If I'm wrong, you cancel before Day 15 and we both move on. The Confidence course is still yours.
The age of the fear doesn't matter, because fear isn't a habit you have to break. It's a reading. When the thing it's reading changes, the reading changes with it. I've watched riders who hadn't loped in years come back to it within weeks. Not because they got braver. Because the horse underneath them got surer, and their gut noticed.
You can desensitize a horse to a hundred objects, and object one hundred and one will still blow him up if the foundation underneath is shaky. Desensitizing teaches him that a tarp is okay. Sureness teaches him that no matter what shows up, he and his rider are okay. One is a list of things he tolerates. The other is a horse that stays calm. The course builds the second kind.
You can talk to Carson AI inside the Buckaroo Crew member portal once you sign up. Open a new conversation and ask it anything about horse training or horsemanship. It'll answer you the way I would. I trained it on my complete teaching, so it knows everything I know, and it'll give you the straight answer. It can also help you build a plan for your horse.
Then you don't pay a dime. The Confidence course is still yours forever. That part of the offer doesn't change whether you stay or go.
When that timer hits zero, this offer goes away.
After that, the only way to get the Confidence course is inside an active Buckaroo Crew membership. You'd pay for the membership, you'd have access while you keep paying, and you'd lose access the moment you cancel. That's how it works everywhere else, every other time. This page is the only place and time you can get the course forever.
I want to be straight with you about why there's a deadline. It's not a marketing trick. The deadline is there because deadlines work. Without one, most people don't take action even when they want to. With one, the people who actually need this take it. The people who don't, don't.
Three days is enough time to decide, and not enough time to forget. I'd rather have it be clean than drag it out.
Riding season is here. The trailers are rolling past your place every weekend.
Without this work, the next 90 days look exactly like the last 90.
The same negotiation at the mounting block. The same "maybe I'll just do groundwork today." The same watching other people lope off down the trail while you stay where it feels manageable.
And the circle keeps shrinking.
Every season you ride a little less. He gets ridden a little less, which makes him a little less sure, which makes you ride even less. That spiral doesn't stop on its own.
One day you look up and realize you own a horse you don't ride.
I've watched it happen to good riders with good horses, and it breaks my heart every time, because it was never about courage.
The fix is a surer horse. That's what's in this course.
Watch the Confidence course. Pull out your checklist, find the part where your horse is least sure, and start there. The lessons are short on purpose. You can watch one in the morning and work on it that afternoon.
Then pay attention to what happens in your own body the first time he stops off your seat, or backs off a suggestion, or keeps walking calm when something rattles the brush.
The fear doesn't leave because you got braver. It leaves because there's nothing left for it to read.
You can feel the difference by next weekend.
P.S. The Confidence course is yours forever after this trial whether you stay or not. The deadline is real. It hits zero exactly 3 days after your first visit to this page. After that, this offer is closed.
